Key Lime

"Dave's Place doesn't serve up fancy. It serves up good food for hungry folks who are taking care of business in downtown Little Rock. With a bevy of sandwiches, a goodly number of plates and salads each day and an omelet special to drool over, it's a lunchroom for comfort seekers.
The desserts change each day, but what doesn't change is the old-style homemade quality. Such it is with the Key lime pie. Don't expect fresh flown-in Key limes for the job -- this is strictly from the can, two or three cans perhaps including some sweetened condensed milk. DO expect smooth, fragrant flavor, a Key lime pie like it's always been made around these parts -- thrown together from ingredients kept on the shelf.
There's a beauty and simplicity to such an offering. And it's cheap."

Cheddar Rotel bread?!!?!!
"I am relatively new to Little Rock and just began working near downtown so have been trying all the various lunch spots. Dave's Place is without question the best sandwich I've had in all of Little Rock - there is literally more meat than bread. And speaking of the bread...today I tried the Andrewwood on Cheddar Rotel and it was incredibly delicious. Great value, great food, and if you enjoy supporting "Mom & Pop" places instead of chains than you can't go wrong here."

Friday Nights...Biggest secret in Little Rock
"The Friday night dinner menu changes weekly and is always fabulous!!! The live jazz is excellent! Service is great, fast and friendly. Bring your own bottle of wine and start a perfect weekend. The people "in-the-know" are tight lipped to avoid causing a crowd. Casual atmosphere that is unlike any other place in town.......Thanks Dave!"

Best Tomato Bisque in Town!
"When I come to Little Rock from New Mexico, I head straight to Dave's Place and get Dave's legendary tomato bisque. It's creamy and freshly made, every day. Dave also offers the best food value. And I love the family atmosphere. Besides the food, on Friday evenings Dave's Place is the place for local jazz and great food in a relaxed atmosphere. What's best about Dave is his commitment to the Little Rock community. Dave is an original with deep ties to Little Rock and the city's restaurant scene."

"They have a really satisfying deli/cafe menu at an affordable price. I had a Daddy Vic sandwich (pastrami rueben) and it was pretty spot on. I added a cup of gazpacho and it made quite a midday meal for $10. Their daily specials seem interesting and combined with their Friday evening dinner/music setup I am inclined to go back to Dave's Place."

Overall Excellent
"Dave's Place is an awesome place to have a weekday lunch or a special Friday night jazz dinner. The sandwiches, soups and salads are all solid. It's a family-run joint so you get great service. The place is walking distance to most businesses in downtown LR. Make a note to visit on Friday night to enjoy a non-stuffy white tablecloth dinner and live local jazz. Everyone is friendly & welcoming."

"A friend suggested Dave's Place for lunch the other day. It's your typical sandwich, soup, and salad joint, with various daily specials. My friend had Dave's Special (turkey, swiss, mayo, lettuce, & tomato on spinach feta bread), while I had Dave's Other Special (turkey, pepperjack, mayo, lettuce, & tomato on Cheddar Rotel Bread.) Both were delicious, and almost certainly use a local bread company ;) Service was good, too."

"This is one of the few remaining family owned restaurants in town that has the entire family working the lunch and dinner shifts. You get great food, and a friendly, down-to-earth atmosphere cultivated by Dave and his family. Anyone who appreciates an authentic, no-frills dining experience would love Dave's Place. Be sure to get an iced tea and the Dave's Special sandwich. Yum!"
